I have published hundreds of articles in newspapers and magazines. In addition, I have provided photographs and art work to accompany many of my articles. As both a writer and designer, I bring a unique perspective to my work. I know that appealing to the eye of a reader is as important as appealing to the mind of the reader. I have written many business articles about the challenges faced by self-employed artisans. My articles about such basics of running a business as marketing and collecting on payments have appeared in national magazines such as The Crafts Report, as well as in numerous trade and special interest magazines that address the professional artisan. My work in this area has been hailed by editors and artists alike, who say that my insights as both an artist and a self-employed writer give me a unique insight into the needs of the self-employed creative professional. As a member of the society of Craft Designers, I contributed a vast number of designs, patterns, instructions and articles to many of the most popular craft magazines and to some of the world's largest craft companies including Tandy leather, FiberCraft and others. In addition, my pattern designs have been published by the McCalls Pattern Company, the most widely recognized name in patterns and craft publications. |
